About The Artists
Speedy J
Widely considered one of the Benelux's first techno producers, Rotterdam's Jochem Paap, known as Speedy J, helped define the genre alongside pioneers like Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin, and Richie Hawtin. Since the early nineties, he has released on iconic labels such as Plus 8, Warp, and Novamute, but his artistic path has been anything but linear. After his foundational albums G Spot (1993) and Ginger (1995), he pivoted to a more complex, experimental sound on albums like Public Energy No. 1 (1997), and later, he pushed technological boundaries by collaborating with video artists, making the groundbreaking audio-visual DVD Umfeld, and fusing live performance with digital DJing. Partnering with Chris Liebing, he pioneered a fully integrated DJ setup using four laptops and hardware, a method that has since been adopted by other forward-thinking artists. His label, Electric Deluxe, not only sets the standard for peak-hour techno but also serves as a platform for his Collabs series and for like-minded artists to showcase creative synergy. Through his multifaceted career, Speedy J has consistently demonstrated a vision of creative freedom at the highest level of innovation, providing a platform for artists to explore and embrace the ever-expanding possibilities within the broad spectrum of techno.
Chontane
Rooted in Berlin with Ukrainian heritage, DJ and producer Chontane began his career at just 19, quickly establishing himself in prestigious clubs like Humboldthain, Basement, and Tresor. Now increasingly found blurring the lines between techno, breaks, and electro in cities worldwide, he is part of a new wave of producers dedicated to razor-sharp sound design. Drawing from early studies in music and a fascination with sound, he creates dense, body-moving tracks inspired by classic '90s and 2000s club records. Since his 2018 debut, Chontane has garnered widespread praise, releasing two records on ARTS Records, launching his own label TANE, and dropping an EP on the rising label Mutual Rytm. As his career becomes increasingly international, his mixes and productions reflect a unique balance of consistent innovation and guaranteed efficiency, showcasing his erratic musical taste.
