Cosmic Boys are a dynamic French duo who are known for their vigorous techno releases with hands in the air breakdowns, and their new release sees them collaborate with exciting up-and-comer Matteo Vitanza.
‘Midnight’ is the new single where Cosmic Boys and Matteo Vitanza join forces to present an explosive track with chunky drum sounds and electrifying atmosphere. The track’s pulsating bassline and fast-paced rhythms create a peak time energy that’s tailored to the dance floor.
Most techno fans need little introduction to the Cosmic Boys who have worked with some of techno’s most respected record labels including Drumcode, 1605 and Terminal M. This release comes via their own record label Legend, which is a platform they frequent with lots of their original music.
Matteo Vitanza is an Italian producer who has already featured solo music on Legend alongside other influential record labels including Say What?, Codex and Respekt. This is the first time he has collaborated on music with the Cosmic Boys, and it follows a track that he made in collaboration with UMEK.
After a dystopian intro, “Midnight” launches into a slamming kick drum and powerful bassline combo, which is overlayered by razor-sharp hi-hats, euphoric vocal textures and acid stabs. The track’s dramatic tension subsides during the crescendo of the breakdown, then the drums hit back in for an explosive finale.
