JC Laurent's techno project, the French label Cielo Records, has thus far served as a vehicle for his own avant-garde concepts and eclectic tastes. The fourth entry in his label’s releases also includes an interesting remixer, showing that he is now welcoming hand selected and respected talent to join him in this contemporary vision.

With more than ten years of production expertise and skill, JC Laurent has released music on labels such as Deepak Sharma's Hidden Recordings, Abstract Division's Dynamic Reflection, and Coyu's Suara, naming only a few.

As previously mentioned, the solo remix featured on the release is by the Ukrainian artist Na Nich, owner of Rhythm Büro, and someone who has graced Svreca's Semantica to the formidable Dutch label Delsin. He is known for his dub techno Midas touch under this alias and here he provides an incredible rework that fans of his style will no doubt adore.

"Comet" kicks things off with analogue-infused sounds and penetrating kicks, while Na Nich's remix opts for a slightly funkier groove with abstract elements that will spark inspiration to any music lover. "Nothing But An Illusion" explores experimental territory with broken beats and intricate soundscapes with a warping bassline and hypnotic, electrifying pulses. Closing out with "The Switch," it delivers both an ambient introspective start and later driving drum rhythms join this educated piece.

Receiving DJ support on the EP from Charlotte de Witte to Alexander Kowalski, the music is clearly impressing the right crowd, and each track JC Laurent has produced seems to challenge genre conventions along the way, proving creativity knows no bounds in the techno landscape and he is adding to an already grand reputation.
