From Producer to Headliner: Helsloot's North American Journey
Helsloot discusses overcoming self-doubt, connecting with fans worldwide, and the biggest chapter of his career so far.
Hi Helsloot! Thanks for taking the time to talk to 6AM. How are you?
I’m good thank you! Thank you for having me.
Many listeners first discovered you through "Because You Move Me," which reached over 1 BILLION streams, but today you're touring with a much larger catalog and a clearer artistic identity. How do you approach introducing yourself to audiences who may know one song very well but haven't yet gone deeper into your world?
Interesting question, I just try to stay as close to myself as possible in everything I do. I always saw ‘Because You Move Me’ as an opportunity to create my own world and tell personal stories through electronic music.
You're currently in the middle of another big milestone - your first headlining North American tour. When you look at where you were a few years ago versus where you are now, what does this tour represent to you? Does it feel like a reward for years of work, a new beginning, or maybe something else entirely?
It does feel rewarding. I’ve been quite a few times in America but mainly as a producer. So I’ve seen the industry and tagged along to shows of other artists. But now that I’m here just because of my own music makes me realise I came a long way.

For a lot of European artists, North America can feel like a completely different chapter rather than simply an extension of what's already happening at home. As you move through your first headline tour here, has it changed the way you think about your career trajectory or the kind of artist you want to become over the next few years?
Well no other than to continue to do what I’m doing. This tour has been so much fun. A lot of people came up to me saying they’ve been waiting for years to see one of my shows. It’s great to see the faces behind dm’s and comments. Can’t wait to be back.
You've spent years building momentum through releases, collaborations, and projects, but 2026 feels like a year filled with major firsts: your North American headline tour, your debut at Awakenings, your debut at Tomorrowland, and your first shows in Australia. When you zoom out and look at everything happening at once, what does this chapter represent to you personally and professionally?
On a personal level it represents growth, I used to be afraid to express myself. There were times in the past when I entered the room for a show and thought ‘what am i doing here?’, full imposter syndrom. By the time I was done with my set my thoughts would run wild like ‘okay this was nice, but probably the last time they will book me’. I could be very insecure about myself and my music. Afraid to feel different. I went into therapy last year and learned to love myself, and care less about my surroundings. It seems like the universe have picked up on that somehow.
Looking ahead, what do you think the next evolution of Helsloot looks like? Are there creative goals or ambitions that still feel unfinished, even with all the momentum surrounding you right now?
My ambitions are to make a new album, doing collaborations with musicians I admire, play live and design my own equipment.
Thanks so much for taking the time. Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thanks for having me!
