RÜFÜS DU SOL has made electronic music history after the group’s “Inhale/Exhale World Tour” became the genre’s top-selling tour of all-time, according to promoter Live Nation.
“Inhale/Exhale” takes its name from the band’s scintillating fifth album, which recently nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The chart-topping trio comprising Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt sold more than 750,000 tickets globally, playing to over 1.5 million fans across headline shows and festival appearances throughout 2024.
The expansive tour launched in Mexico in March and traveled through South America, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Among its notable achievements, RÜFÜS DU SOL became the first electronic act to headline the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, where they performed for a crowd of 90,000. The group also set a record as the highest-selling Australian act at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, which holds 21,000.
The band headlined major festivals including Lollapalooza editions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Chicago, as well as Colombia’s Estéreo Picnic. Next year, the band will embark on its largest European tour to date, beginning April 24th in Barcelona and continuing through arenas in Madrid, Zürich, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris and London, among other major cities.
“Europe, you’ve always been a slow burn for us,” the group said in a statement. “Twelve years ago it was tiny rooms and bars, sometimes empty, after every tour we weren’t sure we’d be back. But there were always a few nights, in a few cities, that kept us coming back – and now it feels like that’s every city. Thank you guys.”
