About The Artists
Sama' Abdulhadi
Sama' Abdulhadi, a prominent artist in the Palestinian underground scene, is a trailblazing DJ and electronic music producer who has dedicated her career to bringing Palestinian music to a global stage. After her birth in Jordan, Abdulhadi moved to Ramallah, Palestine, where she developed an early love for music, initially connecting with hip-hop before moving to Beirut to study audio engineering. This period was pivotal, as she immersed herself in the local techno scene, honing a unique sound that blends high-octane, Berlin-style techno with Lebanese influences. This musical journey led her to London to study audio engineering, where she released two albums under her former alias, Skywalker, and worked in Cairo on film soundtracks and sound design. While her career has spanned many roles, including a sound designer for Egyptian films and a partner in a publishing agency, DJing eventually became her primary focus. Her big break came with a viral Boiler Room set in 2018, which garnered millions of views and established her as a major force in the electronic music community. Now based in Paris and touring internationally, Abdulhadi remains committed to her mission of supporting emerging artists in Palestine. She co-founded Union, a platform in Ramallah that helps local DJs and producers develop their skills, using her success to uplift and showcase the talent of her homeland.
