Techno is the ultimate background music; you can add it to any time and place and immediatley transmute it into a good time. Just take a dungy, empty warehouse in a seedy part of town- on it’s own, not a very attractive place to be. But add a stack of speakers blasting techno bombers and now it’s the most poppin’ party in town, truly alchemy. Being the spellbinding sound that it is, techno can do the same thing for any occasion. Need to get through that grueling workout? Add techno. Need to bust out 1,000 words before midnight or your professor is gunna drop you from the class faster than a DJ can drop the beat? Add techno. Gotta mop the floors, fold all your clothes, and clean the cat box before bae comes over for takeout and make out? You know the drill, add techno.
Techno is your go to little helper in knocking out chores for a cocktail of reasons: it’s upbeat fast tempo will give you the energy to tackle the task at hand, the rhythm and steady beat will get you in a flow and in the zone, and it’s repetitive and hypnotic nature will keep you looped in and entranced with what you’re doing. It’s a whole vibe that will put you in the mood to move, no matter what it is you’re actually doing. Our favorite expression “work hard, play hard,” instantly turns into “work hard while playing hard” when you have hard techno playing in the background.
Everyone knows that sometimes deciding what tunes to que up can be as hard as deciding if you even want to do your chores in the first place. But we want you to succeed in life here at 6AM, and we also want you to do so while listening to techno. So in our collective pursuit to live our best lives together, here are the top 9 techno tracks you could do your chores to.
FJAAK – “City Club”
FJAAK‘s high octane heater “City Club” commands you to move your body; both with its banging bass thumping away, as well its the vocals literally ordering you to do as such. You can move your body to anything with this tool under your belt. The crust on your rice maker that you should’ve probably washed 3 days ago won’t stand a chance with FJAAK going off in the kitchen.
Nicole Moudaber – “One Day Later”
The sound Nicole Moudaber lays out in her track “One Day Later” is absolutely filthy. So filthy you might want to scrub your floors or maybe even your shower. The beat has such a nasty attitude and dirty vibe, it will probably will leave you with stank face. So why don’t you do something about that stank face and clean up your place while Nicole is playing.
Adam Beyer Vs Dense & Pika – “Going Down"
Oh, it’s going down alright when Adam Beyer and Dense & Pika‘s track is playing: trash going down the garbage shoot, old food going down the disposal, and your overall self-esteem going down when you have to scrub the toilet you share with your roommate. But it’s okay, even though your roommate won’t be there to help you scrub your collective germ baby, this banger will be.
Katarakt – “Everything Was Fine”
“Everything Was Fine” by Katarakt begs you to “Please help”. The vocals ask you to do so very kindly, and you should listen to them. So pretend you’re being asked to do your chores, and then do them in extreme techno fashion with the 303 in your face.
Modus – “Drum Machine Love”
Modus‘ “Drum Machine Love” is repetitive and loopy, which makes it perfect for doing monotonous tasks. In fact, you can take the title of the track and change it to whatever you’re doing. Instead, it could be “Drying Machine Love”, “Dish Washer Machine Love”, “Lawn Mowing Machine Love”, the options are really limitless thanks to Modus.
Luca De Santo – “Mainline”
Luca De Santo‘s melodic masterpiece “Mainline” will be your mainline to call when you need to muster the morale to do your chores. It’s euphoric, trance like aesthetic will help you find the beauty in the most daunting of tasks, and keep you distracted from all the dirt hiding in your home. Tune it all out with this tune playing in your ears.
Alex Stein – “Speed Of Light”
You can get it all done in the speed of light with the help of Alex Stein in your ears. The futuristic sound will make you feel like a cleaning machine as you prove to yourself that maybe sometimes you can put away your clothes right away when they’re clean instead of letting them sit on your computer chair for a week.
Luigi Madonna & Robert Capuano – “Midfield”
Luigi Madonna and Robert Capuano have created the perfect soundscape for you to knock out your Sunday To-Do list before it’s time for your team to lose the big game (sorry France). There isn’t a better track out there to bitterly scrub the stove to while you place your life’s worth for the day on something that is completely out of your control (those wings you made were pretty good though).
Marcelo Demarco – “Checkmate”
Marcelo Demarco‘s high energy track “Checkmate” is the perfect way to checkmate that stack of chores that’s been checking you all week. You might feel like a pawn, but channel the inner queen inside of you and and absolutely wipe the board clean of those chores with this songs help.
Tech Out The Trash
Techno is magic that has has the ability to turn anything into a party. So why not turn your chores into a party? Hopefully they will be after doing them to these 9 tracks.
