Paula Temple is giving up touring for "the foreseeable future."
In a statement posted on Instagram today, November 20th, the veteran DJ expressed her desire to focus her energies on making music instead. She also described experiencing "burnout" over the past year, on top of feeling "incompatible with the direction of hard techno as a world of influencer performers" following the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I feel a strong urge to change pace, get a dog and focus solely on making music," she wrote. "There is a lot of creativity I have yet to explore, and I will be evolving away from hard techno." She called her past 11 years on the road "the best years of my life," and thanked her team, audiences, and the "continuously inspiring scene" for all their support.
In the meantime, Temple is slated to play ten more gigs. These include a New Year's Eve back-to-back with SNTS at Amsterdam's Free Your Mind Festival, followed by dates in New York, Chicago and Bogotá.
