An MPC with a compact keyboard is on the way.
Photos of a 37-key MPC have leaked via a Facebook MPC group. Boxes of the new sampling keyboard were also snapped sitting on the pavement outside NAMM, the annual music trade show taking place in California this week. The shots were uploaded to a Reddit group.
From that box shot, you can see that the plug-ins Bassline, Electric, Hype, Odyssey, Mellotron and Solina will be included. While other details about the functionality of the new machine remain obscure, last week AKAI Pro announced the upcoming release of new stem-separation technology.
MPC Stems will allow users to break tracks down into their component drum, bass, vocal and lead parts, all directly within the MPC workflow. MPC Stems isn't yet included in any AKAI hardware, so the new 37-key MPC may debut the technology. No video has been released of the new 37-key MPC, but AKAI has given out betas of its new stem technology to a number of producers. Watch a demo below.
