Coordinates Feat. Christopher Coe
Uncover the 5 songs that defined Christopher Coe's soundscape!
Christopher Coe is a Melbourne-born, Irish-raised live electronic artist and techno producer. His deep, jacking, improvised techno has taken him across the world—from festivals such as Kappa Futur, Awakenings, and Glastonbury to a residency at the iconic DC10 Ibiza, to underground desert raves and exclusive clubs like Sisyphos Berlin and Sala Sonora Bilbao.
Performing with Eurorack modular systems, Coe blends techno with electronic experimentation, constantly pushing rhythmic and sonic boundaries. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists like Mad Professor, Zbigniew Karkowski, Stelarc, and Reinier Zonneveld. He has played back-to-back sets with KiNK, Colin Benders, and Carl Cox. His live recordings from remote Irish islands showcase a raw, evolving sound that merges nature and technology—check out Worlds End - The Island Series.
As co-producer and creative director for Carl Cox’s live shows, Coe continues to innovate in live electronic music. The two also co-founded the Awesome Soundwave record label, dedicated to releasing music from live electronic artists.
In this installment of Coordinates, Christopher Coe tells us the 5 top tracks that guided his sound.
DVS 1 "Black Russian"
Just a classic minimal techno tune with such feel! Reminds me of times I can't fully remember!
Recondite "Cleric"
Another deep, driving, dark yet emotional and melodic techno vibe that just captivated me on some smoky dark dancefloor in some warehouse on the outskirts of Amsterdam some time in the dim dark past that I can't remember!
Reinier Zonneveld "Plastic People"
He was a sensitive creature back in the day… and this, in my opinion, still stands out as one of his finest works.
Carl Cox, Reinier Zonneveld, Christopher Coe "Inferno"
Huge choon… what can I say?
Josh Wink "Higher State of Consciousness"
Never gets old… even though it is.
