From Parties To The Studio: Mas Que Nada Talks Debut Track and Summer Plans
Tune in for a new Q&A!!

Mas Que Nada Brothers are one of London’s most exciting DJ and Producer duo’s. The pair have hosted parties for the likes of HÏ Ibiza, Snowbombing, Glastonbury, Ministry of Sound just to name a few and are now ready to put their stamp on the scene with their debut release, ‘Take Me Higher’, released on Part Four Records. The Brothers talk to 6AM as they are excited to share their take on house music which is rich in groovy basslines, stopping beats and disco swings.
Hi Mas Que Nada, thanks for talking to 6AM how are you both doing?
Hey guys! We are wonderful thanks, just arrived back from Snowbombing festival in Mayrhofen, Austria where we have returned even more inspired and ready for Summer!
You’ve been known for your performances and holding your own events, however you just released your debut track "Take Me Higher" on Part Four records. What drew you to this new direction in your music career?
After throwing parties for a number of years, it just felt like the next chapter for us. It wasn’t something we rushed into however, we’ve been working in the studio for a little over a year and it now felt the right time to start sharing our work with labels.
We’ve seen many of our peers create music for a number of years and witnessed the satisfaction they have when their music is played out on radio or club shows so once we felt we had enough music to send out, we went straight to work.
We have a deep ingrained love of sharing music and that is only heightened when it is your own.
As you pride yourselves on creating a party atmosphere that celebrates diversity, how do you plan to expand your reach and engagement with different communities through your music and events in the coming summer months? Do you have any specific initiatives in mind to foster inclusivity and unity on the dance floor?
We immerse ourselves within the LGBTQ+ culture, it’s where a lot of our early clubbing days were spent and still now you can catch us in queer venues, whether we’re playing or not . We have always found the most exciting things in culture begin on the fringes so that is where we find alot our inspiration. We have never really had any set rules on diversity however we have always had a strong female and LGBTQ+ representation on our line-ups. Visibility is so key for smaller minority groups, especially within the scene so we will of course continue to be as inclusive and forward thinking when piecing together future lineups.
How does your track “Take Me Higher” represent and align with the purpose of your music and you as artists? Do you have any more future plans for release?
We led with Take Me Higher as we think it perfectly aligns with our brand, as it stands currently. It’s a balearic feel dance floor stomper. When creating music, we often think is this something that would stop you in your tracks or drag you from the smoking area to join the dance floor and lose yourself and we think Take Me Higher does that.
We now have a collection of tracks that are either finished and ready to go out or very nearly finished but we cannot wait to share more of our sound with everyone, especially some of the more interesting and creative directions we’ve taken.
Can we expect you to continue your tradition of hosting sold-out boat parties during the upcoming summer season, and if so, what new elements might you introduce to enhance the experience? How do you plan to keep the party vibes alive?
Unfortunately not. Sometime last year, music policies changed on the Thames and you can now no longer play amplified music outdoors on the river. We had the best few years throwing parties on the boats but without an open top, it’s extremely hard to replicate the incredible vibes we became known for.
The ban is yet another example of our government showing a lack of interest in supporting underground and grassroots music.

Thanks so much for taking the time for our readers, is there anything else you would like to add? Anything for us to look forward to?
Thank you so much for having us. We have our biggest year yet ahead of us so we’d just like to say thank you to everyone who’s supported us this far and to keep an eye on our socials for upcoming events and releases. There’s some really exciting festival and Ibiza announcements coming soon.
