So, today, we’re speaking with the talented Shawn Jackson, to learn about what he has lined up for 2024; despite having been in the industry for over two decades, Shawn Jackson continues to find fresh and captivating ways to stand out, both as the owner of an impressive four labels and as a skilled Producer and DJ in his own right. 

Shawn talks to SIXAM on his future plans for the coming year.

 

What musical direction or theme are you most excited to explore in your upcoming projects for the new year, and why does it resonate with you?

I see myself leading into more and more energetic vocal Tech-House which was a focal point in 2023 and saw great success. I want to see everyone on the dance floor dancing and feeling the vibe of every track I drop.

 

As you enter the new year, what goals have you set for your music career, and how do you plan to work towards achieving them?

I see myself and my apparel line taking things to another level and offering other Artists and labels an outlet to grow their brands. I’ve also set goals to release massive hits on Insomniac, Toolroom, and Stereohype. 

 

Can you provide a glimpse into any specific releases or milestones we can expect from you in the early months of the new year?

You can expect some big releases from me on my AFTRPRTY label as well and continue to chart in the TOP 20 releases across multiple genres.

 

Reflecting on your musical journey, what lessons from the past year do you intend to carry forward to ensure growth and success in the new year?

I plan to continue being consistent with my releases and quality, as well as pushing my creativity further and testing my abilities.

 

Are there any new techniques, equipment, or software innovations you plan to incorporate into your music production process in the new year?

I like to keep it simple and with what works, though there are some mastering plugins and tips I look forward to implementing into my current process. 

 

Are there any artists you hope to collaborate with in the coming year, and what kind of creative synergy do you envision?

I am looking to work with Oscar G, R3WIRE, Doc Brown and DONT BLINK.

 

How do you see your sound evolving in the new year? Are there any genres or musical elements you aim to incorporate or experiment with?

I see it remaining the same, just elevated. I’ve made a name for myself in various genres and look to continue branching out into even more - if you can dance to it, I am going to produce it. 

 

How do you plan to manage your time and resources effectively to pursue your musical ambitions?

I have a rigid schedule I stick to when it comes to my studio time, playing events or running my radio show - it’s not about managing time, it’s about creating it.

 

What do you hope your music will communicate or evoke in your listeners in the new year? Is there a particular message or emotion you wish to convey through your work?

Complete feel-good and uplifting memorable music that connects those who listen to it to one another, in turn, creating the ultimate musical journey.

 

As you step into the new year, what are your overall aspirations as a DJ/Producer, and what impact do you hope to have on the Electronic music industry and your audience?

With confidence, not arrogance, 2024 Artist of the Year.
