Grace Dahl – “I Want To Dance”
Listen Here
Powered by a chugging rhythm and Dahl’s own looping vocal hook, “I Want To Dance” wastes no time making its presence known. It’s a mature club track at heart—stripped back, yet entirely self-assured. Subtle, tension-building synths concoct a sonic atmosphere that evokes long bouts of wandering through haze and strobe lights. Teetering at 135 BPM, the resulting tune is an infectious house groover, likely to work its way into your mental soundtrack with no intention of leaving.
Arriving just days before her performance at Soenda Festival in Utrecht, the release follows a run of acclaimed shows, including a Boiler Room set that has established the Dutch talent as one of the scene's current must-see acts.
With “I Want To Dance” set for a May 28 release, it’s time to forgo deeper meaning and simply find your way to the dancefloor.
About Grace Dahl
Grace Dahl has emerged as one of the most exciting names in the circuit, with a flair for emotive, high-energy techno. Her sound blends emotional depth with an infectious energy that resonates both personally and collectively.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, and spending her early childhood in Spain before settling in Amsterdam, her upbringing was as colorful as it was diverse. With a Hungarian father and Finnish mother immersed in the European rave scene of the 1990s, her path into music seemed inevitable.
Some of her earliest memories are of watching her father play records at home, mesmerized by what was happening on the turntables. That early spark quickly ignited a passion for music, fueled by her culturally rich upbringing.
Grace’s DJ career began at 18, cutting her teeth in Amsterdam clubs before becoming a resident at the iconic Vault Sessions party series. She has since performed at renowned venues and festivals including Berghain, Awakenings, Boiler Room, and Stone Techno Festival.
Her production journey began in 2018 with her first release on Coincidence Records as part of a VA compilation, followed by her debut solo EP Dark Side of Desire on Khazad Records. Subsequent appearances on labels like Amelie Lens’s Exhale and Frenzy Recordings have solidified her place among techno’s elite. Her music is characterized by powerfully weighted percussion and immersive soundscapes.
In 2024, Grace launched her own label, Serial Disc Touchers (SDT Recordings), as a platform for high-quality, boundary-free music. The label has already released two projects and features artists such as Alec Dienaar, Julian Muller, François X, and Onyvaa.
As 2025 unfolds, Grace’s momentum continues to build, driven by her dedication to the craft and her rich artistic vision. With a packed release schedule and performances at some of the world’s most iconic venues, her journey is far from over.
