Ciclé Records is a UK-based record label that’s been making waves within the deep tech/minimal scene, and the imprint starts 2024 with a collaborative EP from Jack Realist and James Large.
Jack Realist is a Portsmouth-based artist who heads up his own record label called, Realism93. He is a skilled producer who has also released on respected outlets such as on Uncut, Techords and Ohana Music. This release is the first time that James Large and Jack Realist have teamed up, and it’s also James Large’s first-ever release.
James Large is a respected DJ whose music production translates his ability to build suspense on the dance floor, as both of the tracks on this EP are functional cuts with trippy feeling.

The EP’s title track, “Let You Go,” opens the release with skipping kick drum patterns that give the track a bumping groove. Stuttered vocal textures and digitised atmospherics add to the track’s techy vibe, which builds captivating suspense as it develops.
“Airplane Mode” is the more upbeat of the two tracks, and is characterised by bass stabs, snare rolls and warped vocals that create a hallucinogenic vibe. It’s a dark and brooding cut that is perfect for the dance floor while still having lots of atmosphere.
