Here are Kahai's top 5 inspirational tracks.
Midnite "Love The Life You Live"
This reggae group was probably my first true 'favorite band' while growing up. Reggae music probably has the heaviest influence on me since I grew up listening to it; and really drew me into a love for music at a young age. To me, it portrays having to lead your life in the way that you want. And to me that is especially true for me on this artist journey.
Mala "Miracles"
It wasn't until I came out to California for college that I was really introduced to the electronic music scene. Early Dubstep (pre Skrillex lol) was the first genre of EDM that I really fell in love with and this artist, Mala, tops the charts for producers for me. His heavy, dubby sound is very influential in my music. I still continue to add heavy subs and low end into my tracks now, regardless of the genre.
James Blake "Limit To Your Love"
James Blake was another producer that I found early in my artist journey and was instantly inspired. Also topping the charts of producers that I love and inspire me. This song is so simple and complex at the same time. There aren't many elements in it, but for me it portrays so much emotion, especially with the low end subs used. A heavy low end will always draw me in.
Carl Cox "Heads Up"
Carl Cox was one of my initial introductions into techno. He has been a big inspiration for me ever since then. This album by him is one of my favorites, and for me album of the year when it came out. This track itself seems very experimental at times, and reminds me to try and push the boundaries of my sound, and to trust that process.
Altinbas "Tide"
I found this track early in the techno phase of my artist journey, and I think it really has helped shape my sound since then. The gritty percusion and the simple arrangement and sounds gives it a little of an old school feel, while still having the speed and energy of the current raw techno I love.
