Noema's "One" is a Magical Release

Noema is an eclectic electronic music artist whose sound ranges from downtempo electronica and Balearic disco to indie dance. His new album, ‘ONE’ is a magical release accompanied by a cosmic storyline.
‘ONE’ takes its title from the fact the album consists of one long track lasting around 45 mins. The music is played mainly by musicians, but there are electronic drum patterns that hold the tempo and keep the players in time.
This album breaks away from what people might expect Noema to play in a DJ set, but that’s because the music is meant to be a live performance or home listening album rather than a DJ tool.
Each musician playing on the album was given a series of melodies to play in sequence, but they can move between melody patterns at a rate of their own choosing. Giving musicians the freedom to choose how long each pattern is looped, means that no two performances of the album will be the same. This concept of having musicians free-flow between loops was inspired by Noema’s love of the minimal music classic, "In C" by Terry Riley.
The concept of the music is also linked to a storyline that Noema has brought to life by designing costumes, choreographing a stage performance and writing a comic book/storyboard.
Discussing the concept of ONE, Noema said that the music tells a story of "an island-universe called Noema that manifests as four Interdimensional Space Voyagers. Because humanity has lost their ability to play and connect with each other, these entities became trapped in our dimension and now put on performances to re-power their portal, so that we can all be interdimensional again!"
There is a strong feel-good vibe that runs through the music, and the colourful costumes of the characters help bring the story to life. Noema has already tested his live performance concept at the 2022 edition of Garbicz Festival in Germany, and it was reported to be a hit with the crowd in attendance.
