6AM Coordinates Feat. D-SHIFT
Check out the 5 songs that guided the sound of D-SHIFT!
Drunken Kong, the globally recognized Tokyo-based techno project of D. Singh, has been a leading force in the scene since his 2011 debut, performing at top Japanese clubs and releasing on major labels like Drumcode, Tronic, and Arcane. His chart-topping success includes reaching Beatport’s #1 annual techno sales in 2022 and becoming the first Asian artist to release an EP on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode in 2023, followed by continued global support for tracks like “Dance All Night.” D. Singh has now taken another separate journey into more progressive music under the alias D-SHIFT.
In his own words D describes what his new alias means to him.
D-SHIFT is more than just a musical project for me—it’s where the magic happens.
Switching to progressive house has given me a new direction and new inspiration. This genre allows me to add elements and explore sonic territories I couldn't touch with other styles. It feels like I'm starting over, but now armed with all my knowledge and experience.
At my core, I'm a groove guy, and I have been from day one. D-SHIFT gives me the perfect space to dive deeper into that groove.
The slower BPM is key, as it provides more space and more angles to work with. This expanded canvas lets me fully lean into my other passion: storytelling. This is what D-SHIFT is to me—a vast, emotive narrative. It's the ideal platform for me to express my emotions from a different perspective.
In this installment of Coordinates, D-Shift tells us the top 5 tracks that guided his sound to his newest alias.
Luka Sambe - Endorphima (Cid Inc.Remix)
This was one track which the melody stood out so much for me. I couldn’t keep this melody out of my head for a while. The groove, the feel and mood is jus great!
Guy J - Million Years From Now

Sasha - Expander
Sasha is a producer who I really look up to. This was one of the first progressive house tracks that I heard. The synth works is just amazing.
