With the support of industry heavyweights like Christian Smith, Marco Faraone, and techno legend Carl Cox—who has spotlighted Marck's banger "The Creator" in his sets for over a year—Marck D's work has solidified its status among techno's elite.

In his latest endeavor, Marck D collaborates with Miami-based Colombian talent, Alex Ocampo, to add a grittier, darker twist to his signature sound. Their recent EP, released on the Unity label run by Damian Jacuk, aka D-Unity, combines powerful beats and rhythmic prowess with minimal melodies, hitting right at the heart of what techno enthusiasts crave.

The EP's lead track, "I'm Ready," reimagines the iconic "For the Same Man" sample by B Beat Girls, elevating it with a rich tapestry of effects and sharp editing to create a mesmerizing, euphoric vibe. With its core techno beat pulsating at 138 bpm, the track is an invitation to let loose on the dance floor.

Ending the EP on a high note, "Pumping" weaves in more "tribal" and "Latin" vibes, with layers of stabs and fleeting vocal cuts that inject the track with unparalleled dynamism. This release has caught the attention of industry icons like Danny Tenaglia, who has already featured it in his latest gigs.

Hi Marck D and Alex Ocampo! Thanks for taking time to talk to our audience. How are you both doing?

We're doing great, working hard in the studio on new music...

 

You both have a collab EP coming out on D-Unity’s label. How does this collaborative work differ from your own individual tracks you would release on your own? What do you feel you each brought to this EP to give it, its sound?

We feel it's very different from our individual work; collaborating is always interesting because each of us brings a different perspective, and in this case, the result is this fusion of peak time techno with a lot of groove.

 

Since Marck you’re based out in Colombia and Alex you're in Miami, how did you guys connect? How did you both come to this collaboration?

Hahaha, thanks to technology, it has become possible that being anywhere in the world is not an inconvenience to do this type of work. In our case, ZOOM has been a good alternative, along with a lot of chatting on WhatsApp with ideas and new versions.

With both of your successes you probably could have released this with a variety of different labels. What made this EP a good fit for Unity records?

Both of us are big fans of the label; we regularly play a lot of UNITY. We love the quality, the great reach it has and how much it's supported by big DJs like Carl Cox, Christian Smith, and Danny Tenaglia among many others...

 

With this EP what do you hope the listeners will feel on the dancefloor? Is there any particular vibe you two were hoping to express? Has this track already been dancefloor tested? If so, what's been the reaction?

We love seeing people DANCE; we try to give it a special touch with unique hooks and breakdowns, so they are very distinctive in DJs' sets. Both tracks have been tested at major events with a very positive response; people love this catchy and groovy vibe, and we are very happy with the result.
