For someone discovering Davis aka Hz for the first time, what should they know before hearing the music or entering one of your events? Why the name “Hz”?
The name “Hz” comes from the unit of frequency, Hertz. I became fascinated by the idea that frequencies can influence human emotions and consciousness, especially concepts like Solfeggio frequencies and positive vibrations connected to happiness and healing. For me, music is not just entertainment — it is energy, atmosphere, and communication beyond words.
What made you build Hz Recordings into more than just a label?
It happened naturally through trial and error while trying to promote music internationally. I gradually built everything that was necessary — releases, radio, interviews, guest mixes, and events. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that music alone is not enough. Communication, presentation, relationships, and consistency are all important parts of building a real platform.
What kind of experience do you want listeners to have on “Davis’s Room”?
I want people to feel connected to my world. I want listeners to feel like they are visiting my room, relaxing together, and naturally joining the conversation. More than a radio show, I want it to feel like a real human connection through music, culture, and communication.
Tell us about your upcoming single.
My new single is called “Phase Shift,” and it will be released through my independent label, Hz Recordings. The direction of this release is minimal techno, which represents the core sound and foundation of my label. I am strongly drawn to hypnotic grooves, subtle changes, deep atmosphere, and repetitive rhythms that slowly evolve over time.
What makes the Maxi Bond remix project meaningful to you?
She also appeared on my radio show, and after receiving her approval and support, I started reaching out to artists connected with Hz Recordings about the project. Collaborating with a legendary artist feels very special and valuable to me. It is not only about creating a remix — it is about building a bridge between generations, cultures, and music scenes through respect and creativity.
Anything else you would like to add?
I am still learning every day, and I want to continue connecting people around the world through music, radio, and culture. My goal is to bring people from all over the world together through music. I truly appreciate everyone who supports independent artists and underground music.
