Artists will never come unprepared to a party. They always bring a toolbox packed with tracks that are truly dance floor destroyers. “What’s in Your Toolbox” features artists’ secret weapons, aka, the tracks they don’t leave out of their USB. This installment features Marc Romboy!
Check out Marc Romboy's 6 tracks that he always has ready to crush the dancefloor!
1.) Carl Cox "Ice“ (20 Years Systematic)
I can imagine many people were pleasantly surprised when Carl released this slightly different track. It’s been an absolute thrill to feature this electro banger on my Systematic imprint, and I can’t think of a gig where I haven’t dropped it. "Ice" is a stunning journey through the diverse and flavorful facets of electronic music, blending Teutonic arpeggios reminiscent of Kraftwerk with the warm, soulful pads that bring to mind legends like Larry Heard and Fingers Inc. But here’s the real kicker: the 808 electro groove ties it all together, compelling you to move and dance. This track is pure excellence!
2.) Harvey McKay "DV8“ (RSPX)
This track makes people go absolutely berserk! My buddy Harvey has once again proven that he knows exactly how to push all the right buttons, ha ha. It’s rough, it’s soulful, it’s pumping, and that piano chord couldn’t be more spot on. Bullseye, brother!
3.) Marc Romboy & Robert babicz „"Modular friends“ (Marotopia)
It's always a bit weird to write about your own music, but this time it's easy because there's such a great story behind this track. After more than 20 years since our last collaboration, Robert and I finally teamed up again for a laid-back modular session that was an absolute blast! The result? "Modular Friends“, a track where the beats are built around the original session. What you're hearing is 100% pure, spontaneous creativity, born out of pure joy. This one was all about the fun!
4.) Kiko & Waltervelt "Random of time“ (20 Years Systematic)
Holy moly, what a collaboration! I’d say Brazilian-French friendship has never been stronger or more creative. My friends Waltervelt and Kiko have joined forces to create an absolute monster of a track, there’s really no other way to put it. I’m blown away by how they’ve seamlessly woven in a catchy rap vocal and a funky rave signal over a pumping beat. This is a solid 10/10!
5.) Kaufmann "Sam´s pharmacy“ (Senso Sounds)
This lady never misses! Kaufmann is back with her latest banger on Huntemann's Senso Sound imprint, and it’s an absolute knockout. Pumping beats, fresh sounds, and an echo that lodges itself in your brain and refuses to leave. Play it again, Sam, this one’s pure fire!
6.) Dusty Kid "Minesweeper“ (20 Years Systematic)
When you talk about Techno in its purest form, you can't ignore my friend Paolo, aka Dusty Kid. This guy is not only super talented but also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He has an uncanny ability to craft the perfect blend of electrifying sounds, sexy beats, and that magical low-end punch. If you're craving some top-notch contemporary techno, you’ve got to check out this tune. And let's hope the sound never flatlines, ha ha!
