Ilona Maras Debut's on Victor Ruiz's VOLTA Records
Ilona Maras drops a peak-time techno bomb on VOLTA, solidifying her rising status.
Ilona Maras continues to plant her flag on the peak time techno scene with her debut release on Victor Ruiz’s VOLTA.
Continuing to gain a stronger foothold, Ilona Maras started 2025 with a release on Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave, and this latest release is in that same vein. Both tracks have the slamming drums and in-your-face sound that are at the heart of Ilona Maras’ music.
She is based in Zürich (Switzerland), and is a resident at the city’s Hive Club, which plays host to iconic DJs from across the globe. Hit the Club is the name of her release on VOLTA, and it’s easy to imagine both tracks getting dropped in a mainstage setting, especially when it’s already gained support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Drunken Kong, and Pan-Pot.
The title track “Hit the Club” opens the release, and it’s not holding back any punches, as straight away it launches into the bold and bellowing bassline. Vocals about partying all night ensure the track’s message is clear, and it gets the listener fired up to let loose with a night of extreme dancing.
“Ra Ra Ra” is second, but it could have easily been the A-side, as it’s got a massive sound led by furious synth stabs. Its swelling vocals build suspense, and they warp in the breakdown, then the track reaches a crescendo when the drums come hammering back in.
This really is an awesome techno release from Victor Ruiz’s record label, and you can buy a copy HERE.
