Simina Grigoriu’s record label, Kuukou is a respected source of techno, and the imprint’s new release comes from Clif Jack. It’s the third time Clif Jack has featured on Kuukou, following a previous solo release, plus a track contributed to a mixed artist compilation.

Featuring two original tracks, this is a solo EP by Clif Jack, and it certainly brings the heat. Both tracks light up the dance floor with scorching hot percussion and sizzling arpeggios. It’s a peak time release that has an in-your-face style reminiscent of artists like Joyhauser and Space 92.
Clif Jack’s star is on the rise, and the Italian artist has started popping up as a headline DJ in clubs across Europe. He has also signed music to scene leading labels such as Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth on Acid making him one to watch.

Kuukou is one of the main labels that champions Clif Jack, and this release is another strong offering. The title track “Perfect Collusion” combines a hulking arpeggio synth with walloping drums and trippy vocals to create an electro-tinged slice of big room techno. “Body Odyssey” is an acid techno track that signifies its breakdown sections with breakbeat percussion, but the main groove has a pulsating bassline, and 4/4 kick that delivers a pounding groove.

These tracks are perfect for mainstage DJ sets, and it seems likely that they will do the rounds during this summer’s festival season.
