Sisko Electrofanatik Celebrates 20 yrs In The Techno Industry with Starboy
The 15 track album is out now on Gain Records
Sisko Electrofanatik’s new album Starboy is a 15-track release that celebrates his 20-year career in the techno industry.
The album is out now via his record label Gain, which was launched in 2013. The record label has focused on Sisko Electrofanatik’s own music, but also featured other original music by artists ranging from Fatima Hajji to Spartaque.
Gain has not been the only record label to feature Sisko Electrofanatik’s music, and he has also featured on record labels ranging from Carl Cox’s Intec to Monika Kruse's Terminal M. He also boasts a fruitful DJ career playing regularly at events in Europe and other parts of the world.
The title track “Starboy” is the perfect album opener, as its pulsating acid line and hammering kick drum build hypnotic tension. The next five tracks “Thrust,” “Ziggurath,” “Syntagma,” “Zork,” and “Opale,” are trademark Sisko Electrofanatik tracks, as they are all peak time techno with rousing synths and explosive drums.
Track seven is the first time the album moves away from Sisko Electrofanatik’s usual style, as “Get Lost (feat. Lory)” is a melodic techno track with an emotive vocal. Other tracks that break away from his traditional style include “Elements” and “Fable,” as both of those are progressive house with a melodic flow. “Acidland” is a downtempo electronica track with old-school acid synths, and “Diapason” is a minimal track that is reminiscent of the techno scene in the mid ‘00s. The other tracks are all peak time techno in Sisko Electrofanatik’s well-versed sound.
Starboy is an album that has allowed Sisko Electrofanatik to showcase all the different sides of his styles, and presumably the genres that have influenced him over the years. Overall, it’s well put together, and a great listen for anyone who likes energetic electronic music.
