Fanzine Fest - 10th anniversary
The Planetarium of the Casa de las Ciencias, Domus, Fundación Luis Seoane and Sala O Túnel will host the sound and visual proposals of the tenth edition of the festival, to be held from 2nd to 7th December.
Fanzine Fest tickets are on sale through the festival's official website, www.fanzinefest.com
A wide range of electronic music styles define this special edition of Fanzine Fest. International figures such as Convextion, Tasha, Headless Horseman, Umwelt, or Ben Pest will visit the galician city this autumn to form part of an eclectic line
up that will offer a heterogeneous and current vision of the musical avant-garde. As usual in Fanzine events, the local and Galician scene, both in the sound and visual fields, will be widely represented. This year's line-up includes names such as Death Whistle, Synth Alien, Baldo, Phasic 18, Cintia Martís, Boneco, Huma & Urok, EME-SX, Lefrenk, Dj Sith, , Robot City, Aural Space, Roi, The Panic Room, Fake Robotique. The event will also be attended by the pieces from the FPS-BPM audiovisual projects section, once again curated by Juan Lesta and María Núñez, and the workshops open to all audiences at the Luis Seoane Foundation.
Fanzine Fest will kick off its programme on Monday 2nd December at the Planetarium of the Casa de las Ciencias. The new live AV of the Galicians Synth Alien & Baldo, prepared especially for the occasion, will mark the opening day.
The following day, the activity will move to the Domus, to enjoy a new edition of FPS-BPM, in which the authors will present their video clips and audiovisual creations.
The activity will continue at the Casa del Hombre on Wednesday 4 with two very special concerts: one by the Asturian Okkre, one of the great references of the national scene, who will be collaborating for the first time in the visual part, in charge of The Panic Room.
The Asturian will present NOISEA, a piece inspired by the therapeutic impact that the noise frequencies generated by urban beaches have on the inhabitants of these cities.
The second act of the day will be Death Whistle. The artist from Viveiro, on their fourth visit to Fanzine Fest, will present 'Alter': an alteration of time that sometimes passes through luminous spaces, full of air and spirituality, and at other times through dark, broken and disturbing landscapes.
On Thursday 5th, the Luis Seoane Foundation will take over the reins of the festival and for three days it will become the official festival venue. There will be a succession of dj sets and live performances by local, national and international artists. On the first day, the presence, for the first time in Galicia, of the Basque artist Judy stands out, as well as one of the unmissable names of the national Electro scene, the Madrid-based The Zenobit3. They will be accompanied by three exponents of the local scene such as Lefrenk, Phasic 18 and EME-SX. The second day, Friday 6th, will be a marathon day, starting in the morning and ending at midnight. Workshops, talks and 9 music shows - 4 of them by Galician artists: Roi, Boneco, Dj Sith and Robot city - will make up the programme of a day in which the presence of one of the leading actors of the scene in recent years stands out: the Frenchman Umwelt, DJ and experienced producer from the rave and underground techno scenes of the 90s.
The line-up for the day will be completed by the young Madrid-born Luska, Hüugen from León, the Londoner of A Coruña origin Lex G and the Colombian based in Galicia, WG83.
The third event of the Luis Seoane Foundation will begin on Saturday morning, the 7th, with a line-up led by British artist Ben Pest, accompanied by Portuguese duo Ruuar, Raphlex from Malaga, and representing the Galician scene, Cintia Martís, Fake Robotique and Aural Space.
On Saturday night, the finishing touch will come, once again this year, with the closing day of the festival, in the Sala O Túnel. The line-up includes the presence of the renowned American producer Convextion; Headless Horseman, who will be visiting Galicia for the first time; and the British DJ Tasha.
But they will not be the only highlights of the night. The line up will be completed by the Cantabrian Robert Cosmic, the Andalusian Irrational Languaje, JX2 from León and the Galicians Huma & Urok.
The visuals will be provided by Baldo and The Panic Room from A Coruña and Mucrovisión from Leon.
Tickets for the festival are on sale through the festival's official website, www.fanzinefest.com. Fanzine Fest is supported by A Coruña City Council and SON Estrella Galicia.
