Orderly Chaos is the latest EP on Voxnox from Alignment, a techno artist whose every release sends a clear message that he is here to stay.
The Italian DJ/producer is a Voxnox mainstay, but has also caught the eyes and ears of many other well-established techno artists, including Charlotte de Witte who hosted his “Nothingness” and “Time” EPs on her KNTXT imprint, and Regal’s Involve Records, where he released His EP titled “1992.” His tracks have received regular support from the upper echelons of techno, including Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Chris Liebing and Amelie Lens, with the latter including his collaboration with Regal in her fabric mix compilation.
We caught up with man-of-the-moment Alignment to discuss what he has been up to and specifically to chat about his love affair with the Voxnox family.
How are you, and how’s it going during this crazy period in our lives?
Hi thanks for having me, I’m fine. I just can’t wait for this period to be over finally. Think it’s really enough after almost a year! haha
How did you connect with the Voxnox Crew?
It all started about 8 years ago, when I was in touch with Fabio Venezia for the first time. We had directly a good vibe, similar visions and interests. 2016 I moved then to Berlin to start the Alignment project.
Fabio is also your Manager and agent at Thrust Agency, is it hard to be friends but also work on a professional base?
I think the base has to be respect and similar visions of a project, for us this works without any problems for about 6 years now.
Tell us about your new “Orderly Chaos” EP on Voxnox – what inspired you most during the creation process?
VNR043 mirrors our suspicious time at the moment. Especially “Future Dancefloor“ shows us how fragile everything can be? The question behind was, what is our “Future Dancefloor“, do we stay at home or return soon to normality. I am happy to see that everything develops a bit better in 2021 regarding the actual COVID-19 situation.
You are very focussed to write versatile tracks made for the clubs, what gives you the most motivation to create a new tune!
I always try to stay focussed and positive. This is the spirit you need to hustle through these times. Thinking back to all the great shows I did and what might come up, is a big motivation!
Anything to tell us for 2021?
Yes, open the club doors please! (laughs)
Thanks for your time Alignment and we wish you all the best for the future.
Thanks also to you guys and the steady support!
