Bastian Bux: Bringing The House All Night Long
Barcelona's Bastian Bux drops in with 6AM for a chat!

Barcelona local Bastian Bux continues to go from strength-to-strength, after a massive 2023 where Bastian released on Eats Everything’s imprint Edible, premier party brand elrow Music, Detlef’s Issues and YAYA’s Tamango Records and Tamango Xpress.
This has gained him a stellar reputation for carving out some of the freshest tech house grooves in dance music, further cemented by a top three spot in trending tech house artists on Beatport in January 2024. Alongside a top 10 spot on Beatport with his last release on his own imprint NEVERENDZ at the end of 2023.
His sound is charaterised by a fusion of funk, disco and minimalistic sounds resulting in classy tech house groovers infused with eclecticism. This has led to premier event brands and venues jumping onboard the Bastian express train, playing a 16-date world tour at the back end of 2023 - playing across eight countries in cities Los Angeles (US) New York (US), Sydney (Australia), Tokyo (Japan), Tulum (Mexico) among some of the major highlights.
With barely a moment to catch his breath, Bastian begun 2024 in typical fashion announcing his ‘Dunns EP’ on Jamie Jones Hottrax. Plus a collab EP with Daniel Orpi reaching the top three in the minimal/deep tech chart on Beatport. Bastian’s musicality combined with his tireless work ethic guarantees that 2024 will see him take things to new heights, with his most ambitious project to date confirmed…
Bastian Bux will bring his All Night Long concept to his home city sharing his record collection with the city that has helped shape him into who he is today. Expect this to be a special chapter in the Bastian Bux story.
Tune in as 6AM sits down with Bastian Bux as he tells us about collabs, touring, and his "All Night Long" events.
Hi Bastian Bux, thanks for taking time to talk to 6AM. How are you doing?
Thanks for having me; it’s a pleasure to talk with you guys. I’m enjoying some time at home, getting everything ready for a month of touring in Europe. This means short flights and the possibility of sleeping in my own bed during the week. Pure happiness! Hahaha
Your 'All Night Long' concept is hitting Barcelona, your home city, soon. Can you explain what it is first and how does it feel to bring this intimate experience to where it all began for you?
In recent years, I've been focused on expanding my international profile. Spain has a fantastic raving culture and a vibrant electronic music scene, but local artists face challenges thriving here. You need to achieve success abroad before being recognized at home. I love playing in my city, though it's odd that I play three times a year in Miami and only once in Barcelona. Discussing with my team, we decided to return to my roots, managing the music from warm-up to closing. I'm nervous about selling a large number of tickets for the first time, but excited as it marks a significant chapter in my career, surrounded by my people.
Your fusion of funk, disco, and minimalistic sounds has garnered you international acclaim. How do you plan to infuse your signature style into the 'All Night Long' event in Barcelona?
One of the main reasons I want to follow this All Night Long path is so I can explore a wide range of house music influences without boundaries or time constraints. With 2-hour sets, you're often forced to adapt to the vibe set by previous DJs. Managing the music from start to finish over 7 hours allows me total freedom to delve into every aspect of my sonic palette. While I wish I could pre-plan or consciously decide how to infuse—or even create—a signature sound during these sessions, it often happens spontaneously as I get comfortable selecting and playing records, following my instincts, and connecting with the crowd.

Your global tour in 2023 took you across eight countries and major cities. How did each location influence your musical journey, and what memories do you carry from those experiences?
That tour was a 40-day-long journey—the longest I’ve ever been on—and was undoubtedly the most interesting one of my career in terms of experiences and learning. Aside from the special moments on the road, like visiting amazing places, each country and crowd presents unique challenges. One day you're playing to a massive crowd in Chicago, and the next you're in a small club in Tokyo, performing for a hundred people. As you can imagine, the approach to music has to vary greatly, and you need to be able to convey your story differently. It's hard to choose a favorite moment of the tour, but the countdown during my NYE set in Sydney, being the last of a 15-set run, and choosing the very first track of 2024 surrounded by an euphoric crowd is a moment I will always remember.
Collaborating with artists like Daniel Orpi and releasing on labels such as Edible and Hottrax, you've had quite the journey. What lessons have you learned along the way that you'll bring to your upcoming projects?
The biggest lesson I've learned is that when I follow my love for House music, that's when I create the most interesting stuff. As an artist, you have to deal with self-doubt and a lot of environmental noise—everyone's telling you, "oh maybe you should try this or that." It's impossible not to wonder, "what if they're right and I should follow a different direction with my art?" I'll be honest—I've done that. I've tried to do something that wasn't 100% what I was feeling, just because it made sense strategically. None of these attempts succeeded. My best songs were born while following my inner love for House music. All the other stuff I made, thinking beyond this simple truth, failed and never saw the light. They are sitting on my computer, reminding me that even if it sounds naive, we, the creators, have a responsibility to ourselves and our own vision first, especially when creating music.
Thanks so much for talking to us, anything else you would like to add?
Thanks again for having me! I would just like to add that even if you can’t make it to my first All Night Long party in Barcelona, I have plans to create a new series of intimate House Music events all around the world, starting in the second half of 2024 and beyond. I also have exciting plans for a new label and plenty of new music, but one step at a time :) And a reminder to myself—and to whoever resonates with it—trends come and go, but House Music stays forever.
