Brooklyn-based label White Owl Records unveils its latest EP with the release of Conor Krane's It Melts Off My Bones. Available in both vinyl and digital formats, this EP promises to immerse listeners in a world of live and machine-driven techno, drawing inspiration from the vibrant underground scene in New York.
Following EPs from Piner, Drim and Concrete Husband, Conor Krane is one of the label owners and he steps into the spotlight this time with four original tracks that showcase his talent and vision. From the shuffling percussion and hazy vocals of the title track to the acid-infused depths of "Side Eye," Krane demonstrates his ability to craft intricate soundscapes that flaunt with boundaries of the genre.
Joining Krane on remix duties are Artem Velychko, also known asARTM, and Carlos Aguilar, better known asConcrete Husband. ARTM, a Brooklyn-based artist hailing from Ukraine, infuses his remix of "It Melts Off My Bones" with a jackin' spirit and interesting sound effects, while Concrete Husband, with a background in classical music, delivers a hypnotic reinterpretation of "Off Planet" that strips back the original to its core essence.
It Melts Off My Bones takes listeners on an engrossing voyage through the diverse landscape of techno, and already picking up support from DJs like Slam, Michael Klein, Hydrangea, Lindsey Herbert, Juana and JakoJako, the release’s stature is lifted to a whole new level. This record, which has artwork from Pegnosis, was also mastered by London-based techno icon Paul Mac, and is proof of the inventiveness and originality that is thriving in the Brooklyn techno scene.
