Kristian Heikkila is a Swedish techno producer who introduces his next three-track EP, Bounce, which is a masterful release with analogue sounds and hypnotic grooves.
The release comes via Kristian Heikkila’s own record label Konstruktion that he has decided to reinvigorate after pausing the imprint in 2021. People might recognise Kristian Heikkila from his music on other record labels ranging from Pan-Pot's Second State to A.Paul's Naked Lunch, and he recently featured an EP on Hertz’s Sway.
His EP on Sway showcased the upbeat tempos and raw percussion of his hardgroove style, and this release shares many of those same elements. It’s also proven popular with DJs after already picking up support by the likes of Truncate, Cari Lekebusch, Ramon Tapia, Slam and Tiger Stripes.
“Bounce” kicks off the release with exhilarating percussion that underpins stabbing vocal textures and modulating bursts from the filtered lead synth. “Soul” does exactly what the title suggests, as it’s got soulful vocals that are layered over dramatic chords and punishing clap rhythms. “Lost Rider” ends the release with its warped synths and ominous pads combined with brutal percussion.
Overall, this is a timeless release that can be purchased HERE.
